Real Alternative is a codec pack playing RealMedia files without installing RealPlayer.
The pack can be used with any DirectShow-enabled media player, such as Media Player Classic, which is included as part of the package. The pack was designed using Real Media Splitter, an open source video filter, and Real Media Codecs.

NOTE:
Real Alternative development has been discontinued and removed from the developer's website on July 25, 2010 with no reason given.
Limitations in downloadable version
.smi and .smil files only play first part of clip. RealMedia DirectShow splitter doesn't work with streaming content - use included Media Player Classic.
