Team Fortress 2 is a free-to-play team-based first-person shooter multiplayer online game. The game focused around two opposing teams competing for a principal objective. These teams, Reliable Excavation and Demotion (RED) and Builders League United (BLU), are meant to represent two holding corporations that between them secretly control every goverment on the planet.
Players can choose to play as one of nine classes in these teams, each with his own unique strengths and weaknesses.
Nine classes of RED team are pyro, engineer, spy, heavy, sniper, scout, soldier, demoman, medic.
One of the most popular online action games of all time, Team Fortress 2 delivers constant updates—new game modes, maps, equipment and, most importantly, hats. Nine distinct classes provide a broad range of tactical abilities and personalities, and lend themselves to a variety of player skills.
No matter what your style and experience, we've got a character for you. Detailed training and offline practice modes will help you hone your skills before jumping into one of TF2's many game modes, including Capture the Flag, Control Point, Payload, Arena, King of the Hill and more.
There are hundreds of weapons, hats and more to collect, craft, buy and trade. Tweak your favorite class to suit your gameplay style and personal taste. You don't need to pay to win—virtually all of the items in the Mann Co. Store can also be found in-game.

How much of the game can I play without paying anything?
The entire game can be played without making a purchase. All game modes, classes, and maps are available. Nearly every weapon is available through achievements, drops, or crafting.
How is a free account different than a premium account?
Premium accounts have a few extra features, including access to rare and cosmetic items through random item drops, the ability to store more items in your backpack, and more powerful trading and crafting abilities. Otherwise, the gameplay experience will be identical for both accounts.

How do I play?
Install Steam. Download TF2 and play! If you've never played before, going through some training is highly recommended.
Is there a way to practice before I play online?
Yes. We offer helpful training campaigns that will teach you the basic gameplay mechanics of various mercenaries. We also have a mode that allows you to practice on an assortment of maps with CPU bots with a variety of skill levels.
